Price is a bit optimistic and I think it has been parked for a long time. I recall getting a pic of the car some years ago showing it sitting on the ground. The old style rego plates and the 35 year old service history says a bit about how long it's been idle. But it's a standard compression engine so it's the better one to get. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/the-gap/cars-vans-utes/450sel-6-9-mercedes-benz-1979/1184897958

00157 is not the Vin but the bodynumber from that year for RHD.

I had a look at this sorry car today. It appears the Vin may 5257 but It was bit dark and my Camera was set wrong (duhhh!) .It was 2 owner car the first being a Mr Nash Esq, In the UK. Yes the original service book is there and it's data card. BUT.... this car has sat for exactly 30 years and everything has aged ,especially the tires so to shift it from under the house would require a set of wheels and some chocks to lift it up. It has beige velour seas in very good condition but the interior stinks, possibly decaying seat packing. I made the owner an offer based on the parlous condition and told her that was realistically what it's worth. As a UK delivered car it has the standard compression engine, no smog gear of any description but also very little rust apart from where the weather gets into the basement. So it could be gotten running and driving with a decent cash input and no need to worry about body work(despite being an English car,it may have arrived here when almost new like my 6.3) .Maybe she will accept my offer, who knows?
