I bought one of the last available batteries from MB a couple of years ago for the '68 we did and I was told at the time that they wouldn't be making any more of them. We used a suitable replacement for the next car we did ( a '67 ) and the last one we had in this year ( a '69 ) had a decent battery so it was OK.

Best thing to do is measure the size of your old battery and then find something of equivalent size and cranking amps. I believe we were able to buy a battery from MB that was a bit smaller but was more than suitable.

there's only a hand full of battery manufactures that stick labels for many manufacturers so any new battery should be fine.

I'd stick with lead acid given that AGM batteries require bigger alternators.
