All,

For almost a year, our Registry has been stagnant. The Group can only, and rightly, blame me. In August, 2011, I moved the website to a new server, oblivious to the fact that the software that maintained the Registry was incompatible with the newest Microsoft operating system. Oops.

With the (major) exception of the tireless work of Paul v. S., as of today every car submitted to me has been added to the public Registry. And, in fact, brand new software has been installed, too, so that we can move forward and get all our cars listed in the Registry.

I am still working on some *bugs*, but hopefully within a few weeks, they will be sorted out. And, with a bit more work, Paul will be able to update the Registry himself, which will benefit the Group to no end.

Thanks for your patience.

Gerrett Conover,
M-100 Vice President/Sec'y.

Hi Gerrett,

THAT is fantastic news.
At this moment I am fighting a recent computercrash (very haevy virusattack) and restoring all my data. But it should be right soon, I hope. Restoring my old computer went not right. Luckely I had an backup from a little more than one month. I think my second harddisk made that restoring complete impossible .... But cant figure out.'
So an new computer is installed slowly up.

On the other hand I am fighting new and unclear software, which I have to learn, whil my old software won't run on this new windows 7.

But, I hope to overcome all these (temporary) problems soon.

**************

I have checked the new look and that is imho very good.
Only when I click on the owner-button, sometime appears a different car and Vin. So there is still something to optimize ....

Might be you were working on that database, while I was checking ..??..

Paul,

The software is 4 versions newer from the 2005 copy we were using (V 7.1 vs. V 3.2). It uses "wizards" to create the code that you want to build the web pages. I had finally gotten used to the 'old' version, and now I'm going to have to brush up on the new features and interface. The new software has a LOT more options, particularly with regard to data validation and even photo resizing. I'm hoping that someday we can have an ability for members to add their own cars to the registry.

With that said, I know the 600 Registry is showing weird anomalies when you click on the Owner. I'll work on that this week.
