The interiors of the two gold Landaulet are the same, I bet one million that they are the same!

Reading some books about royalty and dictators, I have read that HIM Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia had a Landaulet (to Ethiopia went only one Mercedes 600) and Emperor Bokassa of Centroafrican Republic had one Landaulet (at least, he had some LWB Pullman).

We can ask to his son (Bokassa's son has a blog on the Internet).

Regards!

Here an other picture of the same car in New Sealand:
It is clearly a 4 door Pullmann and not a Landaulet.

You won't get any answer.
First you have to proove ownership of a car you want info about and second they have not all records of the ownership. Only dealership.

On the other hand, we discovered, that their Statistics about produced Landaulets did not fit.

They never produced a 6door shortroof RHD-Landaulet although the sultan of Brunei let his one rebuild to V12 by AMG ....

So no hope for you ...

Rolls-Royce for example have allowed to the writers consult the list of number of chassis and the owners of them. I don't understand why not Mercedes-Benz with the Mercedes 600...

It would be quite interesting to know all the first owners of all the 600 (or, at least, the famous).

Regards!

Perhaps it was originally cut from a fixed roof car. There's a guy in Germany who turned a 600 SWB into a LWB Landaulet.

Maybe the tuner who tuned the Landaulet changed the car from LHD to RHD.

Hello Paul,

here are pics of a Landaulet, which I saw ten years ago by a Mercedesdealer named Kröpfl in Austria. I think it is unknown. The dealer told me, that it was built in 1966 and was a long time a "Mercedes-Pool-car" in Stuttgart. Later he bought it from the factory.

Greetings
Wilfried

unknown (without Flagholders). This is NOT 601 or 1743 the sultan Brunei car, while those Brunei cars were sixdoor with six doorhandles. As far as I can see it is a LHD

The photo has been altered. It is one of Tito's

This is the same vehicle

The red color is the original. The photo with the black interior is a chop (the doorhandles have been removed from the middle doors too. You can actually see (if you look carefully) that the front seats and dash are burgundy in the image.

The car was captioned as Tito's ....but I take your word for it because I always thought Tito owned the Presidential version with cognac leather interior.
