ha ha ,I just bought this Van for a grand.($30,000 new) It's a 2000 model, has all options including a cassette player( in a 2000 model car...)and only has 190,000 on the clock .No rust- good tyres blah blah....but no cylinder head and I haven't found one yet.I'm even having trouble getting a maintenance CD or a manual for it .It has a Mercedes OM602 5 cylinder 2.9 liter and I can't even find a listing for head gaskets anywhere except China where there are at least 12 manufacturersbut unlike our Prime minister I don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese so that option ain't open to me....
I bought it because it has been sitting outside our drive for almost 4 years and the council were going to seize it as an abandoned vehicle.

The lights are out so the engine could be accessed when the head was removed.

Ron,
There are dozens of them that I see on the road every day of the week, so there must be a source of the parts and information that you need. Three Point service them on a regular basis. Why don't you ring Patrick Schneider, a member of our club, and ask him where they get their head gaskets. I remember seeing a van wrecker from the train on the northside, but I can't recall exactly where. Norris Car Group on the northside who sold hundreds of these vans for M-B may know the wrecker. They are at Nundah as I recall.

Hi,Yes Norris sold it new but i'm cheap and dealer prices are a bit out my league. My land Lord has just parked another Merc van outside my place. It's easily 4 times bigger than this one.
One thing I did see in China ( via the web ) was this Prius Clone. WITH THREE WHEELS!!!!!

No harm in asking Patrick for a P&A. Three Point are no longer "authorized". Centenary did a deal with Daimler Asia Pacific to cut their market and move into their territory. Patrick and his parts people can buy from whomever they like and if you can't find a gasket supply, I'll bet they can.

I didn't know that,I do know however that Centenary's Parts guys have left ( lot's of really experienced staff) and are running a wrecker on the Gold coast specialising in older Mercs. I think Craig S. has Stefans number.

Ron,
If Stefan is the same Stefan who was service manager at Three Point a few years ago, his number is 0432 449545. If you want his address and landline and e.mail, send me an e.mail. If you are talking to him, tell him I said Hi.
